Well, I'll say he didn't shed any tears this time around. Either I'm losing my edge or Madonna's taught him to become more comfortable with the faults he's born with.
[Noh-Varr might say that she has a choice, but they both know what he'd prefer.
Of course, if that's the case then he won't be getting the answer right away. In fact, it'll take a good twenty minutes before Hange bothers to send anything back.]

[All things considered, it's actually an impressive attempt, with Hange managing to keep pace with the fast beat (though it might've helped that she had the tendency to ramble at the same speed), tripping up only at two points. Her singing's deeper, and while it's obvious that she's focused more so on the lyrics than anything else, she manages to remain on key for most of it.]
[Hange's ready with another retort after that laugh, though she's cut short when Noh-Varr sends her a message that piques her curiosity almost immediately.
It'll take a good five minutes before she answers, to which she responds with a quick—]

I almost want to sing an entire album now. Almost.

But you're right. We'll need a way to fuel the old system until the prototype is perfected.
A mechanical air compressor. They aren't complicated machines. The most work required would be construction, and even then, Elric might be willing to lend a hand.
An air compressor would certainly solve a lot of short term problems. Good idea, and since Ed volunteered to help with the actual upgrades I'm sure he'd be able to assist with this as well.

A viable fuel source to power it would be tricky though. I have some gasoline, but if there's a more efficient alternative we can use then I'd favor that one drastically.

I've been told that you've recently come into contact with a man named Erwin Smith.

I have. He's from your world as well, correct?
no subject
He is. The same military branch, even. We've been working together for years.
FROM: hange.zoe@cdc.org
He sang Madonna to me.

I thought he had a pleasant voice; he told me you would make fun of him mercilessly. Did you?

This time around? So it's happened before.
no subject
He gets real sensitive sometimes, you know. Once you squeeze one out of him they all come out like some kind of torrential downpour. Lots of snot too.
no subject
I really didn't need that mental image.

I do have something for you, if you'd like to see it.

You're welcome.
FROM: hange.zoe@cdc.org
But oh? Should I come over to your rover, then?
FROM: hange.zoe@cdc.org
It isn't an impromptu singing competition, is it?
no subject
Maybe I should make you sing something in order to get your surprise.
FROM: varr.noh@cdc.org
Actually, I think I will.

Dragged that joke through the mud too long, huh?
FROM: hange.zoe@cdc.org
Fine, I'll accept that challenge. Do your worst.

Blues Traveler, 'Hook'. I believe in you, Hange.

Is there a particular verse you want me to sing, or are you expecting the entire thing?

At least half. First or second, up to you.

You earned it.

You're going to need something to sustain you until the work is done, though.

Gasoline can work for now; I'd rather leave the materials for solar paneling for the 3DMG themselves.

I'll let you know when things are complete, and we can forward a request to Edward together.

Understood. I'll be looking forward to moving to the next step of our project.
