Aside from an instrument of war, combat is a form of stress-relief. It can be recreational, or meant as a skill display to attract a potential partner.

If we need to distract our minds we might also play games of war strategy or star system construction sims.

I told you, it's not about what is seen but how it's seen. The choice to draw one thing and not another, and to do it in a specific way, is mine.

I could both draw the same subject as someone else, our drawings would inherently be different.

There are far more telling subtleties to consider sentimental, in my opinion at least.
Walking isn't quite as involved. We don't engage in recreational combat, and we don't hunt unless it's necessary.
I take it this is not the case in your own culture?

You have already said it, but no, it is not rude.
Though it would be interesting to see if you could keep up. :)

I don't understand. How is re-creating images you observe an expression of self?

You find greater significance in artistic perspective then, is that correct?
no subject
Yes.

Maybe one day.

Is it a goal for you, Noh-Varr?
Or an idle dream?

The skills the Kree taut me are the reason I've survived. I won't renounce them.

So, more the latter than the former.

But that doesn't stop me from diversifying my repertoire, as it were.

Do you wish always to be a Kree?

My desire to create art is at odds with my culture, not my nature. So not really.

Would things have been easier as a human? Maybe. But pain is a good teacher.

What is it that leads you to that assessment?
That it is good.

Experience. Individuals learn faster under duress.
FROM: varr.noh@cdc.org
Isn't that the selling point of the Black Box?
no subject
Faster, perhaps. But a quick decision is not necessarily a wise one.
no subject
Faster as in, 'more effectively'.
Negative reinforcement is a common teaching method.
no subject
Common yes. But I have found its results are often lackluster.
Incentive yields far better returns.

Makes me wish my cadet instructor had thought similarly.
no subject
Which school of thought do you ascribe to?
no subject
Both are necessary. If incentive is all you've known, pain will make you break.

I would think that life experience would prevent an individual from knowing only one.
