[ He tries to hold the rise of his brow but doesn't quite manage, leaving his expression decidedly cautious. The Kree don't believe in ghosts or spirits, but he's seen enough to know that there's stranger out there, and that it's Ryan's mutation that causes him to percieve it differently. No comment on differing philosophies; his previous interactions with humans have traditionally confirmed them to be a superstitious species, and he doesn't want to have that conversation right then. ]
You think the officers of the Neheda would have that kind of power?
[ Vriska had definitely slit his throat; she'd seen him go down and even patched up his body afterwards. He'd been unquestioningly dead--or had he? ]
[It's something he's used to seeing, and something he honestly sort of expected after Noh-Varr's reaction to knowing Ryan can sense him. There's a flicker across his face of an almost defensive look, but it passes when he isn't questioned further on that, leaving his expression more level. A little guarded, maybe.]
...they might. All I can say is that I'm pretty positive you wouldn't have been brought back from any kind of crossover, I'd bet it was prevented somehow.
[ Mutely, Noh-Varr nods. It's a lot to think about. The veil between life and death isn't something he's had much appreciable experience with--thankfully. ]
So you...can't die? [ This, at least, is safer: talking about Ryan's abilities. ] What would happen if you were to become fatally wounded?
...well, I'd still die. But like I said, point of crossover. It's tied in with me, I'm-- not really half-dead, exactly, just sort of existing on both sides.
[It's complicated, and in all honesty it took him a while to figure it all out and wrap his head around it himself.]
My body repairs itself. Kind of like kicking back on whatever processes have to work to do that, making them work harder, and then it goes back to normal once I'm stable enough to live-- getting back to good condition takes time or treatment, though. Last time it was a week after I woke back up before I felt decent again, longer to actually be in good health.
