I think we'd be a lot safer if we knew what was down there. It's impossible to secure the strait without knowing what's under the ice.

I've explored underwater areas in the past, if you have any concerns about my experience with it.

Trust me, I've been in waters filled with far more dangerous creatures. With you tagging along, it shouldn't be any issue at all.

It's a recon mission, I doubt we could kill all of the sharks even if I wanted to. Hopefully we can find the safest pathway over the ice, and get a better idea of where the sharks are coming from.

I'm asking Neheda for some equipment to help those who can't breath underwater. There's a slight catch, though.

I need a blood sample for medical. According to Neheda, they need to make sure your anatomy is compatible with the breathing equipment.

They're sending me, actually. From what I can tell they've had their hands full since that attack that left us in lockdown for 72 hours.

Performing a blood test is on the bottom of the list of their priorities right now.

Well, that's not usually what people say when they're about to have blood drawn. Hopefully what I bring works well enough. I'll be right over.

[It's about half an hour later that she shows up to Rover 17, knocking on the door. She's not wearing her armor at the moment, instead donning the CDC issued clothing, figuring that drawing blood would be a lot easier with two hands and no bulky metal in the way. In her right hand is a small med kit, with all the necessary supplies for a quick blood draw. The vial with Noh-Varr's name on it that Dagger had provided her was also nestled in among the supplies.

Despite being incredibly lightweight by design, the med kit feels heavy in Samus's hand.]

[Samus approaches him and sits down beside him. She sets the med kit down and gets a closer look at the small drones, thankful for the small distraction.]

What are these?

[She stretches out her fingers but instead of reaching down to touch the small drones, she reaches up towards her neck. In a flash of light, her helmet appears on her head and she begins scanning the tiny things, zooming in on one of them.]

Did you make these?

I understand how that feels. Believe me.

[Samus makes sure to scan every inch of the small bugs, absolutely fascinated by them. She looks back at Noh-Varr, scanner still active. Almost on instinct, she begins a quick scan of him, data scrolling down her helmet, visible to him in reverse. As soon as the scan is complete, Samus reaches up to her neck and presses a hidden switch, which causes it to disappear.]

Sorry for the distraction, force of habit. I like keeping a neat and complete archive. We can get started if you're ready.

[She's logged away the interesting scan data for analysis later. It would probably come in handy when she had to fill out that "questionnaire" on him...

When Noh-Varr's uniform pulls back up his arm, Samus blinks in surprise at the fact that even his clothes are made of the same material as his gun. What an interesting technology, she could imagine it being difficult to hurt him while he was wearing it, if it worked anything like that gun did.

Reaching to her side, Samus opens up the medical kit, preparing the needle, collection tube, and tourniquet necessary for drawing blood, as well as a small bottle of disinfectant and a cotton swab.]

We learned basic field medicine when I was in the military. The tools medical has to provide are a bit different than the ones I used back home, and it's been almost a decade since I've done this on someone other than myself... But hopefully I'm not too out of practice.

[Pulling off her gloves, her skin tight Zero Suit is underneath, form fitting enough to her hands that it's almost like a second layer of skin, allowing for plenty of dexterity. She grips Noh-Varr's arm gently and holds it straight, tying the tourniquet around his arm above the crook in his elbow. She begins wiping down the area of skin she plans to draw from with the cotton swab and disinfectant.]

I'll be honest, I've never met a Kree other than you. Meaning I've never drawn blood from one either. If I'm going to be in danger of hitting anything vital, please don't hesitate to stop me.

[It's only perhaps two to three seconds before the vacuumed tube fills with blood, a process she can't exactly stop considering the way the tube is designed to fill to the pre-determined amount as soon as it begins to draw. So by the time the convulsions even register to her, the draw is already complete, and less than a little gently she is pulling that needle out as fast as she can to try and stop whatever she just did to him.

Eyes wide and hand pressing gauze to the puncture wound as hard as she can (which is quite arm-crushingly hard), Samus uses her other hand to grip Noh-Varr's forehead, staring into his eyes to try and determine whether or not he was seizing.]

Noh-Varr, can you hear me?? I told you to warn me if I was going to hit something vital!
